One of the most compassionate and exciting ministries in our church is our Special Needs Ministry. This ministry is especially designed for those who are learning disabled, educable slow or autistic. People of all ages facing these handicaps are welcome to come and have their needs met through this ministry. Special needs people are loved and accepted in our church. When their health allows them, they are also allowed to serve in different capacities in our church. We currently have three different Sunday school classes meeting the needs of our special needs members. We have an adult men’s Sunday school class called the “The Pathfinders.” We also have an adult ladies Sunday school class called the “The Sonshiners.” Finally, we have a children’s class called “The Joy Bringers.” These Sunday school classes meet fifty-two weeks a year. We also host activities and fun times for our special needs members. You will find that at the Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church, its membership treats our special needs people with the utmost dignity and respect. The families of the educable slow often express their thanks that their special needs member is treated with such dignity and love.
